Abstract:

In this study, hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME) coupled with highperformanceliquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection was applied for preconcentrationand determination of Diclofenac sodium in biological fluids. Parameters affecting the extractionprocess including pH of donor phase and acceptor phase, type of extraction solvent, stirring rate, extraction time, and salt addition were studied and optimized. Under the optimized conditionsdonor phase pH=3, acceptor phase pH=11.7, extraction solvent n-octanol, stirring rate =750 rpm, extraction time=27 min and without the addition of salt, enrichment factors up to 170 wereachieved and the relative standard deviation (RSD %) of the method was within the range of 2-3%. The method was successfully applied to determine the concentration of diclofenac sodium inthe biological samples and satisfactory results were obtained.

Optimized preconcentration of Imatinib using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction coupled with HPLC-UV

Background: Imatinib is an antineoplastic agent acting as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor to treat cancer such as lymphoblastic leukemia. The dosage of the anticancer drugs plays a critical role in the survival of the patients. For this reason, the patient's plasma and urine samples should be monitored to obtain the necessary information regarding the toxicity of the drug. In this study, the applic...

Enrichment and determination of trace estradiol in environmental water samples by hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction prior to HPLC.

This paper presents a novel and simple cleanup procedure based on hollow fiber liquid-phase microextraction (HF-LPME) for the determination of trace estradiol in environmental. Estradiol was extracted from a 140-mL water sample (the donor phase) into the pores of the hollow fiber wall organic solvent, then into the organic solvent (the acceptor phase) in the lumen of the hollow fiber. Afterward...

Determination of melamine in soil samples using surfactant-enhanced hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction followed by HPLC–UV using experimental design

Surfactant-enhanced hollow fiber liquid phase (SE-HF-LPME) microextraction was applied for the extraction of melamine in conjunction with high performance liquid chromatography with UV detection (HPLC-UV). Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was added firstly to the sample solution at pH 1.9 to form hydrophobic ion-pair with protonated melamine. Then the protonated melamine-dodecyl sulfate ion-pair (M...
